Only the half way mark for my one month excavating stay but for most of my digging mates it was the last day. The weather was not cooperative although we did get in a full mornings work and an extended post lunch tour of the trenches with commentary on current findings and future plans.
On a damp, misty day you can still work floor surfaces. Here the three folks I've been working with for two weeks are peeling back surface stuff to expose a cobbled floor. First time it has seen the light of day since the 3rd century AD.
The lady on the far right had been looking daggers at me yesterday. I try to be helpful and had offered to clear up a part of the trench she was having trouble getting done. Up popped a coin. Today no help offered, as none would have been accepted! And the Universe evened things up by sending here a coin of her own.

With a large team on a large site you don't get to know everyone, but let's say most. Hopefully we'll dig again in the future. Speaking of which in one corner of the site a small area of the deeper anaerobically preserved organic material is peeking out. Planks from 150 AD....
