2018. Seems like we should regard this as "the before times". I went on a sturgeon survey with the DNR fisheries crew. My contribution to fish science was this cute little guy.
A couple of months back the same crew returned to this little river. It is of particular interest because with the removal of a dam it is now being studied for the return of sturgeon who were not able to reach it for many decades.
Well wouldn't ya know, my sturgeon was caught again and identified by the radio tag he got back in '18. I'm told he only grew a quarter inch in the interval.
So I guess it is not always true that "they grow up so fast".
