Stepping Carefully on a Sensitive Topic

My part of the world was settled first by Native Americans then quite a bit later by French and English fur traders.  That's our History.  The sensibilities of that era would totally be OK with this truck I noticed parked in front of the courthouse on a fine spring day.  Modern sensibilities?  Mmmm, a little borderline. Steel traps give almost anyone a twinge.

OK, and as a car ornament a steel trap that says YOUR LAST STEP does seem a bit excessive...
